Charm City Networks was founded in 2007 by Chris Whong. With a B.S. in Geographic Information Sciences from the University of Maryland at College Park, he has been an IT technician for 4 years, and has worked primarily for local small businesses. Real-world experience with Windows servers, VPNs, email, online collaboration, IP cameras, GPS tracking and data collection, IP phones and A/V have given him the critical thinking and technical troubleshooting skills necessary to design IT systems on a budget, and keep them running smoothly. Chris is also a combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and continues to serve part time in the Maryland Army National Guard.
Our logo contains the familiar shape of the walls of Fort McHenry, a local landmark and a national historic shrine. The choice of a local symbol indicates the company’s regional affiliation, and the geometric design symbolizes the logical connection of separate points, as in computer networking. The logo was designed in October 2007 by Reblis, a Washington D.C. area graphic design firm.
